Console Upgrades And Usage Tips For The PS4

When it comes to console gaming in 2016 there is no end to the amount of upgrades and mods that can be fitted to a console. One of the most common is the hard drive upgrade, which allows for many more downloads and games to be readily stored on the machine.

The PS4 is no exception, while it comes with a  500GB 2.5-inch SATA HDD as standard, this can be upgraded to a 1TB or even a 2TB hard drive. There are a few considerations to make though when going down this route.

For example it’s pretty easy to find a 1TB hard drive that will fit into a PS4, but a 2TB disk is a little more tricky. This is due to the size of the enclosure of the PS4 which is 9.5mm thick, a size that most 2TB disks exceed.

Whether a PS4 is upgraded or not, they all have access to the software pre-load function. This allows the PS4 to download files several days before the release date which is extremely useful for those who pre-order new games from the PS4 store.
